Dey Page multi-state business directory with field verification

For Dey Page, Netbase built a multi-state business directory in Nigeria: a mobile-first web directory, a companion app, and a field-verification process that confirms a listed business actually exists where it says it does. This record reports built scope on a 12-week web and mobile plan. No launch is claimed and no user number is published.

What the directory contains

The public side is a server-rendered, mobile-first directory with state, city and category pages, search filters, reviews and click-to-chat messaging. Accounts are created with a one-time password sent to a phone rather than an email address. Businesses can be messaged directly, with a short-message fallback when the recipient is not reachable in the application. Listings carry uploaded video, put through an optimiser, and watermarked photographs. Featured listings and verification badges are sold as subscriptions through two payment providers.

Behind it, five administrator roles work against per-state dashboards, so the operator can run one state's moderation queue without touching another's.

The part that is unusual: a field-verified badge

Most directories verify a listing by sending an email or ringing a number. This one sends a person. A field agent visits the business, takes geotagged photographs, captures identity evidence and submits the result; a head-office queue reviews it before the location-confirmed badge appears. The badge expires after 12 months, complaints against a badged listing are routed automatically, and every step leaves an audit trail.

Two details make this work rather than merely sound good. Agents work where connectivity is unreliable, so capture synchronises offline and uploads when a connection returns. And field capture runs in the mobile web application, not the native app, which keeps the agent tooling deployable without a store release.

The companion app

The cross-platform app carries consumer and business-owner modes, push notifications, deep links and checkout through an in-application browser. It is the consumer and owner surface. It is not where field agents work.

Technology and delivery

The directory is server-rendered and mobile-first, which suits a catalogue whose pages have to be found by search and opened on modest devices over modest connections. Subscriptions run through two payment providers rather than one. The recorded plan covered 12 weeks across web and mobile.

Evidence level and limitations

This record has narrower limits than most, and they are worth stating in full.

  • The source is a proposal dated June 2026. No public launch is claimed, no app-store availability is claimed and no user, listing or revenue number is published.
  • The project domain did not resolve when it was checked on 17 September 2026. That check is why the no-launch restriction exists and why this record reports what was built rather than what is running.
  • A recommendation engine and the remaining second-phase items are out of scope. Nothing here is offered as evidence of delivered artificial-intelligence work.
  • The client's legal entity, its representative and the intermediary company involved are withheld in every form of this record.
  • The client is named here on Netbase's own authority, recorded in the claim register on 25 September 2026. No consent from this client is on record, and no confidentiality obligation covers the project. If the client asks not to be named, this record reverts to the anonymised form the register keeps for it; the methodology page carries the address for that request.
  • The image on this page is illustrative. It shows no client system and no interface.

Questions a buyer asks

Is the directory live today? Not claimed. The domain did not resolve on the date it was checked, so this record reports built scope and says nothing about a public launch.

Do field agents use the mobile app? No. Field capture runs in the mobile web application. The native app serves consumers and business owners.

Does the badge include any automated verification? No automated verification is claimed. A person visits, a head-office queue reviews the evidence, and the badge expires after 12 months.

Building something that has to be verified in person?

Field processes change how a project is planned, which the project delivery page describes, and comparable systems are scoped through Custom Product Engineering.
